JAMAICA: Director Jolita Butkeviciene on EU’s commitment to Gender Equality & Spotlight Initiative

Ms. Jolita Butkeviciene, Director for Latin America and the Caribbean at the European Union’s Directorate General for International Cooperation and Development speaks on the EU’s commitment to Gender Equality and the Spotlight Initiative. She was speaking at the national launch of the EU-funded and UN-led Spotlight Initiative against Family Violence on the 9th March, 2020 at the University of the West Indies Regional Headquarters in Kingston, Jamaica.

The European Union is providing funds of approximately 8 million (EUR) to Jamaica for the Spotlight Initiative, with implementation activities being led by the United Nations Resident Coordinator Office, in collaboration with UN sister agencies such as UN Women, UNFPA, UNDP and UNICEF.
